I am making a cake that consists of green yellow red blue and purple food coloring. Is it safe to feed my kids?

?????????? Ok so that is my 11 year old daughter asking this question because she wants to make it for her little sisters 4th bday tomorrow. Thats funny she asked that cuz I am never crazy bout food coloring but for a special occasion once in a while i thinks it's fine. Such a great big sis:)

Details:

  1. omfg u aint a mother If u were then you should know what to feed ur kids omg,
  2. Not if they have any allergies, eczema or are prone to running hyper. I think it sounds like a no-no.
  3. Yes.
  4. Sure. I used to go to some kids house and his Mom made Pink, Green, Blue and Yellow sandwiches and I never died or got sick.
  5. Food coloring is safe for the most part...but the problem is this I am a mother of four and have been cooking for years if you have to ask don't do it. You have a motherly instinct and if it don't sound safe or make or you have to think about it go with NO
  6. Growing kids should not consume food colouring. It can cause bad headaches and could make them hyper. Try using more natural colouring which you could probably find in a bulk food store
  7. its good only but buy a good company food colour than no probs
  8. YES!!!
  9. Safe yeaah but they might get a bit hyper.
  10. YES! It's FINE to feed your kids, so long as you bought the cake mix / food coloring from a reputable source. The kids will LOVE the unusual, colorful cake. It will likely give them warm, happy, fuzzy feelings. Take a picture of it. They'll remember it and smile about it. Would I do it every day or every week? Absolutely not. I don't think it's good to consume too much food coloring. (And as an adult, I think it's kinda yucky.) But a few times a year, for a special treat for young kids? It's wonderful ... and don't listen to those who tell you otherwise!
