  22. Using a cotton candy machine?

I'm looking for advice from someone with a lot of experience with cotton candy machines. I have one, and all instructions say to fill the head up with floss until it's almost full. When I do this, a LOT of cotton candy comes out and it's impossible to spin it onto the cones. I was told that not filling it up can damage the machine but how am I supposed to get it on the cone if it's filling up the entire pan? Second, I want to use my machine indoors, but it produces smoke. It's not smoke from burning- it smells good and all so I think it's probably a sugar cloud. I have a bubble over the machine but this doesn't help. Is there a way to prevent this? Lastly, I have seen people spin cotton candy onto things other than cones like small sticks and have them perfectly round like lollipops, shape them into giant "cakes" that are in neat swirls, and make them look super light and wispy and a perfect shape. Any tips on doing some of these things? Thanks in advance!
