Elmo Cake Ideas Birthday Party Questions Answered!

  1. I want to do a Elmo themed party for my daughters 2nd birthday and need ideas?

I need ideas on how to make a elmo cake or cupcakes and any other ideas to make the party alot of fun. If anyone has had a elmo party what kinda of games did you play what kinda of cake you had thanks alot

  2. Birthday party picnic menu ideas? Decorating the table ideas?

My daughter is going to be two and we're having a family picnic for her next weekend. It's a small group, but I'm hoping to make it fun for all. The one thing I'm set on making is a vegatarian chili (Mother-in-Law is vegatarian). I'll probably do some hotdogs for the kids. I would love some fun and somewhat easy menu ideas. By easy, I mean that I won't be preparing for hours. An hour or two total is great for food. I'd love to cook on the grill and we also have a crock pot. I would like ideas for a couple appetizers and the meal itself. We'll have a birthday cake, so that's taken care of. We will be moving our dining room table out to the back porch for the meal and my daughter picked Elmo plates. Any cute decorating ideas? Thank you! I'm bored of the usual "picnic" fare after all those summer picnics! I want something fun!

  3. I'm looking for party invitations, ideas and help with baking & decorating the cake?

My daughter's 4th birthday is coming up in August. She wants to have either a Barbie party, a Dora the Explorer party or an Elmo party. Where can I find free invitations, party ideas and step by step instructions for baking a theme related cake?

  4. Birthday Party Ideas?

I need ideas and suggestions. I was thinking of having my kids combined birthday party on the Fourth of July. Its on a Friday and almost everyone is off that day and into the weekend. My daughter's 2nd Birthday is June 26th, my 8y wedding anniversary is July 1st and my son's 4th birthday is July 9th... Do you have ideas for the party or is it a bad idea to do it that day? My son wants a Sponge Bob Party and my daughter loves Elmo, I was thinking of getting them a cake with both characters combined or maybe a small cake each...I really don't like combining their birthday especially since one is a boy and the other a girl but my husband says its too expensive to have two parties back to back, which I agree and his birthday is 9-6 and his sister's is 9-8 and he says he never minded sharing a birthday party with her..... sorry, I just realized I put it in Marriage and Divorce...I meant to put it in the Family category..but feel free to give suggestions and sorry to confuse anyone.

  5. I am doing an Elmo theme for my baby girl's 1st birthday party, I don't want to use boy colors....so....

so what colors do you think would go for a girl, but still has that elmo color into it? I have some elmo decorations right now, so one of the main colors in red, but what other colors would go good with that? Because I am making the cake, I was thinking red, pink, and white, but I don't know what do you think? I am also trying to make bubbles as favors and center pieces for the kids, but I think I need to make them more girly, so any ideas on what I can do to make them more of girl party favors??? Thanks! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd173/jannetseeley/IMG_3935.jpg

  6. My son's birthday cake (turning 2 years old)?

Which would be better for a 2 year old's birthday cake? -- A regular cake -- A cupcake 'cake' -- A mix of both http://graphics.samsclub.com/images/051309ServBakery-SesameStr.jpg I'm going to get him an Elmo cake.... There's probably going to be about 15-20 kids at his party, plus the adults. (We are having it at an indoor bounce play house.) I'm thinking a cupcake type of cake would be easier for the kids... But I've never had a cake like that before. Any of you parents out there have any advice? (And yes, I have a couple more months before his party, but I'm a planner and have to get ideas about everything wayyyy in advance!) LOL, Jax's Mommy - we are inviting a lot of kids from daycare and then my friends seem have to kept popping babbies out left and right for the past few years... :) Plus relatives and stuff. PARENT!!!! Shhh, that's my secret cake for AFTER Johnny goes to bed! :p I LOVE Colten's Cake!!! That is so cute!

  9. 4th of July + Birthday?

I need ideas and suggestions. I was thinking of having my kids combined birthday party on the Fourth of July. Its on a Friday and almost everyone is off that day and into the weekend. 10. What kind of party games/ideas/decorations would you suggest for a kid who loves the car...?

...wash? No joke -- our son is practically obsessed with car washes these days. We always do some type of a "theme" for his birthday (coming up in early September) and we've done the route of Elmo, construction, etc. Since he is sooooo into car washes, I thought it would be fun to try to work that into the theme this year, but feel at a loss for how to do it. I know there is always the Disney "Cars" type of thing to draw on -- but he isn't familiar w/ that movie yet. What kind of creative ideas can you suggest? Short of hiring Duff from Ace of Cakes, I don't know how we can keep the cake in line w/ that theme -- and I'm at a loss in terms of decorations and games. There will probably be some other kids at our house, including classmates and family. I don't want to spend a ton on his party -- nor do I think we should (he'll be 4). Gimme your best ideas! :-) Thanks!

  11. birthday on a budget?

my son's second birthday is on July 10th and we just had to spend all our money getting the car fixed, and gas prices are not helping. We are on a very tight budget for July, probably $100 total for cake, party, and present. He's a big fan of Elmo and the Backyardigans but I can't afford to actually buy the party decorations. I can make the cake...if I had any idea how to make a character cake. My friends are expecting us to throw a big party like they all did with their kids, and I just can't. And as for the present, we had originally planned on getting him a playhouse for the backyard, but at $200-300 that's of the table. Any ideas or creative solutions that have worked for you?
